Standard of Chartreux

 

There are several standards, F.I.F.E, CFA (USA) and TICA.
The standard of the Chartreux was set up in France, and tuned in 1989.

 

F.I.F.E :

 

The body goes from medium to large, massive and muscular. The chest is wide and well developed. The male is massive  in respect to his size. The female is smaller than the male, less chubby, but still sturdy and muscular.

The legs are medium  compared to the body, strong and muscular but not too high.

The Head is wide at its basis, with well developed cheeks for the male. They have the form of a trapeze, wide at the basis, narrower at the top. The skull is well developed, but not bulging, with a narrow and flat space between the ears.

The nose is wide and straight, with no stop.

The ears of a medium size are place high on the skull, slightly flaring.

The eyes are large, open, not round. The end points slightly to the top.

The color of the eyes is dark yellow to copper, with no hint of green. The color must be pure.

The fur is glossy and dense. The basis is slightly woolly. All hints of blue are allowed, from the lightest blue to a stronger blue. No shadow, no hint of brown or red, no stripes, the color of the fur must be uniform. White hair are faulty.

The tail is medium, in proportion to the body. The tip of the tail must be smaller but round: the color is identical to that of the body.

The nose is blue-gray.

The pads are blue-gray. 

CFA (USA)

The head is round and wide, but not spherical. The cheeks are whole, the cheeks of the male are more developed. The forehead is high, the nose is straight, mildly long and wide, with a slight stop at the eyes level.

The muzzle is small compared to the head.

The neck is short and thick.

The ears are mildly high and wide, high on the head.

The eyes are round and open. The color goes from copper to gold.

The body is sturdy, of a medium length, the shoulders are wide, the chest is deep. The bones are strong, the muscles sturdy and dense. The females are less massive than males.

The tail is of a medium length, wide at its basis, getting narrower and oval at the end.

The legs are of a medium length, straight and sturdy. The feed are round.

The fur is mildly short, of a very wooly texture All hues of gray blue, ash to slate are allowed. 

TICA

 

The head is wide, like a reverse trapeze, rather round but not spherical. The skull is slightly round. A slight stop is allowed, but the nose must be of a medium size, straight and wide. The cheeks are full, round, low and especially developed for the male. The chin is strong, the muzzle seems narrow compared to the head, but not pointing.

The ears are narrow at their basis, round at the end, high on the head, straight.

The eyes  are round, quick, bright, from gold to copper, orange but never green.

The neck is thick and short.

The body is sturdy, with wide and muscular shoulders. The chest is well developed. Males are more massive than females.

The legs are short and fine, but muscular.

The feet are round and small.

The tail is thick at its basis, getting slightly narrower and of a medium size.

The fur is dense, thick, slightly raised and wooly.

The color is uniform gray, with no tabby mark for the adults. A light color is more appreciated, but all hued of gray-blue are allowed, as long as they are uniform.  

Differences with Chartreux :

Bristish blue has a rounder head, like an apple, the eyes are very round and the nose is shorter. There are several fur colors.

Russian blue has green eyes and is rather slim and high on his feet. The fur is dense like velvet, with a good light and dense down.
